Taylor got the Taser!

Went for my weekly Non-Stress Test today. Abigail passed with flying colors and this time Taylor was being lazy! She was sleeping soundly with a heartrate in the 130s when the Nurse decided to whip out the Taser. For those who have never seen or had a NST the "taser" as I like to call it is this vibrating apparatus that they put on your belly to wake the baby. Taylor's heartrate went from 130 to 170 in about a second. What a rude awakening! I could have just drank some juice. Anyway my Perinatologist was happy with her reaction and then proceeded to tell me that both girls are doing well and if they continue to do so, they can stay in until 38 weeks. What?!? I am already measuring 40 weeks and can't imagine another 5 weeks, but obviously I don't want to wish them out. Good news is I can do a little bit more at home. Like go downstairs!! Woo hoo!

Am I getting big yet?

32 + 4 weeks today. The ultrasound went well yesterday. It took a little longer than I expected because Abby was being lazy. She was sleeping and didn't want to wake up to practice her breathing. Although when the u/s tech finally bothered her enough to wake her up we saw a cute view of her face. Her eyes were wide open and she has cheeks now. Taylor was breathing away. She uses all her spare time to practice her breathing and Dan and I joke that she knows that Abby has been positioning herself to be first born from the start. Head down knocking on my cervix and reeking havoc, Taylor knows she has to be ready at any time. Poor thing doesn't have a choice. No weights yesterday just a BPP (biophysical profile). Maybe weights next Friday. Now that I am 32 weeks with mono/di twins I go for weekly NSTs (non stress tests) and weekly BPPs and fluid checks. I will keep you posted.

Thank you to all my family and friends!!

We have stuff for the girls!! Last time Theresa and John came over they brought us two big baskets full of clothes, blankets, pacifiers, you name it from Babies 'R Us. Nadine bought them cute little onesies with "Double Trouble" on them. My friend Laurie gave us two ChildCraft cribs that she used for her twins!! Teena has lent us Violet's bouncer and my aunt's friend sent over a lot of stuff from her little girl. Thank you to all!!! Every little bit helps when your first baby ends up being twins and you can't have a baby shower because you are on bed rest!!!! Oh, and we can take them home from the hospital now!!! We have carseats thanks to Aunty Joyce and Aunty Marlene!!! Let's hope they stay put for a few more weeks so we can take them right home with us. We are aiming for no NICU time!!!!

Can't sleep

Since I have been home on bedrest I have been trying to stay on my husband's schedule. His schedule pretty much consists of up all night sleep all day. This becomes a problem when I am still up at 1 am and I have an 8 am ultrasound at Mass General. I guess I will sleep all day with him tomorrow! Can't wait to see the girls...hope I can stay awake!

Identical twin girls are on the way

I loved my friend Julie's blog, so I copied her and created one myself! I am almost 32 weeks pregnant with identical twin girls and I am on bedrest. Bedrest = boredom hence the other reason for the blog. Hope you enjoy!
